The people of God aren’t exempt from suffering. God uses trials to grow us, and in good times or bad He is worthy of worship – and it’s up to us to not become consumed with our issues so we can honor God in every situation.
The people of God also need to beware of tradition & order getting in the way of compassion. When others don’t look, sound or dress like we expect – it’s wrong to look down at them. It’s even more wrong when we try to disguise our indignation as righteous indignation- that’s straight up hypocrisy. Today’s text involves worship, oppression, freedom, tradition and more.
