Power, Protection and Providence – Luke 22:49-53

When Jesus was betrayed, the situation in gethsemane escalated to the point of violence. But even when Jesus was the target of an angry mob, His concern was for His disciples.

This point hits home with His healing of a servants ear after having had it cut off by one of the disciples. By healing that man, Jesus protected His followers from any consequences that would have jeopardized their ministry. This gives us hope for our own lives, where we often live with consequences from our own sinful actions. While Jesus won’t always make life easy, He does protect His people – sometimes even sparing us from the worst case scenario after we have failed.

Join us as we continue in Luke’s gospel with a message of hope for anyone facing tough consequences. The Lord truly is our protector!
