With all sorts of verses that are often used out of context, today’s passage can be a real benefit to the church when we take our own opinions out of it. We’ll find Jesus talking about His nations future, and although it’s in the past for us – the truth found here is timeless for the church.
There are many similarities between a corrupted Jewish sacrificial system during our Lord’s ministry and the church in our day. Corruption, sin, confusion & everything men add to the purity of God’s truth are a serious issue in any time, and God will judge those who tamper with His word no matter who they are.
